Presumably, after the interference of the so-called HUMAN RIGHT ACTIVISTS, the practices are introduced, till they are proved to be guilty.

They are only suspects. They may be free of charge in legal proceedings. So, one can not be publised as criminal till proved in court.

Persons arrested are suspects and not yet declared guilty by competent court. Arrests are made during the course of investigation. Details of investigation are not available for public information under any law. While significant progress is made, which includes arrest of suspects, in sensational cases and in cases of large scale ramifications, police do share such information as is not likely to hamper further investigations, by way of press notes and press conferences, so that in a democratic polity, the public are convinced of the efficacy of law enforcement mechanism. But such satisfaction of curiosity shall not be to such an extent that would undermine the whole process.


There may be threat perceptions for the suspect arrested, his own or as determined by the police, so that other probable suspects who are likely to be implicated during the interrogation of the arrested person, may become jittery and try to physically harm the arrested person. Then all progress made would get nullified. So in the interest of both the investigative process as well as the security of the arrested person, certain methods of concealing the identity of the person are resorted to.
as they are innocent till proven guilty and protect them in case they are innocent..also to shield their identity in case as part of plea deal ( for a lesser sentence) they may end up ';ratting someone else out';
