There was a lot of time between the second film and the fourth, and the original mask (the captain kirk one) looked too different. Originally they tried to use it, but it didn't look good anymore, so the filmmakers had to create a new mask, and, as you note, it didn't look exactly identical to the original.Why did they keep changing the masks in halloweens?
They were made from different people. so they had to change it if u listen to the music its different too
