There are grades of these types of masks. You need the grade that will keep bacteria and other things out after you breathe into it and gets moist. Moisture is what makes the difference. Allot of the masks available OTC won't protect you from anything once this happens. You need to either ask the pharmacist or whoever dispenses medications wherever you live and have them advise you, or make sure you read the container they come in. The one thing you don't want is any mask that isn't completely protected from anyone opening it and checking them out. Then all of those people have had there fingers all over them too. Use your common sense on this and you'll do just fine and be protected enough too. Good luck and God Bless
